Getting ready for the day – or the evening – can be … well, it depends, really. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's fast, and sometimes it's just tiresome. I feel that way occasionally when I'm getting ready to go out. There are days when I just need a little inspiration as I apply a fierce face and do something fabulous with my hair. 1. Florence + the Machine – Kiss with a Fist
I … don't know why I like listening to this when I get ready, but I do. There's something a little punk about, plus I admit, I love the lyrics.
2. Beyoncé – Who Run the World?
GIRLS.
3. Prince Ft. Sheena Easton – U Got the Look
This is particularly fitting in light of Prince's recent, tragic passing. RIP, Prince. Thank you for making us all feel a little more fabulous.
4. Fergie Ft. Ludacris – Glamorous
Fergie makes me dance around the bathroom. I fully admit that I sing into my brush and pose in the mirror. Sometimes I even kiss my reflection.

6. Third Eye Blind – Semi-Charmed Life
This has been a go-to for me since high school. That beat, man. That gets me excited about getting ready.
7. TLC – No Scrubs
Same here. I don't look for boys when I go out, scrubs or otherwise (I'm married to a sugar momma, I don't need no scrubs), but this song still puts a strut in my step.
8. Lady Gaga – Marry the Night
To be honest, any of Gaga's songs will make you feel like a queen as you're getting ready to walk out the door. This one's just my favorite.
9. Shakira – She Wolf
Shakira just … god, I love her.
10. Christina Aguilera Feat. Lil’ Kim – Can’t Hold Us down
Regretfully, I am not as into Christina as I once was. That being said, this song does things to me. It puts a little extra pep in my step.
11. Rihanna – Hard
Rhi does, too. She can make a girl feel so frigging empowered.
12. Katy Perry – Part of Me
What? I can't explain it.
13. The Pussycat Dolls – I Don’t Need a Man
Ahahaha, I really don't. You don't either.
14. Queen – Don't Stop Me Now
Queen will never not make me feel awesome.
15. Panic! at the Disco – La Devotee
Everyone needs a song like this on their makeup playlist, even if it's not this particular song.
16. Taylor Swift – Shake It off
As you're applying your favorite cosmetics and feeling your look, remember this: if you don't have a single hater, you're doing something wrong.
17. Demi Lovato – Confident
This goes without saying, right?
18. Beyoncé – Single Ladies
Of course, that was before Lemonade dropped. I think Bey is going to feature even more heavily on my playlist.
