1. She Looks so Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I’m going to be completely honest here. I saw 5 Seconds of Summer open for One Direction last summer, and their set wasn’t my favorite. They weren’t bad; I just didn’t understand the hysteria. This song changes all of that and makes me question what was wrong with me. It’s such a fun song to dance around your house to, and one of my favorite songs to dance to this spring. It’s the perfect song for spring as the weather gets warmer and you want to listen to fast, happy music.
2. Classic by MKTO
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I’ve been singing my praises of this song for a little while now. I’ve already declared it my song of the summer and it’s only May! If you can listen to this song without wanting to sing or dance along, you are stronger than I, my friend. It has such a different feel from anything else on the radio! It’s pop with a little bit of rap thrown in, making it a perfect song to dance to!
Frequently asked questions
3. Sing by Ed Sheeran
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
A few months ago, if you had told me I would write that Ed Sheeran has a new single that is perfect to dance to, I would’ve laughed at you. Yet here he is with one of the songs of the summer, and it’s not even summer yet. Ed Sheeran is known for his beautiful acoustic songs, but he’s shaking things up with the first single from his new album, Sing, and the result is amazing.
4. Love Don’t Die by the Fray
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I’m personally not a huge fan of The Fray, but since finding this song I don’t think I’ve stopped listening to it. It’s different from anything we’ve heard from The Fray, and it’s the perfect song to sing and dance to this spring!
5. Breakdown More by Eric Hutchinson
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
This song is perfect whether you’re driving around with the windows down a nice spring day, or if you’re simply looking for some music to help you get through the workday. It’s a simple acoustic song, yet try to listen to it and tell me that you aren’t overcome with the need to dance. It’s spring embodied in a song, at least in my opinion.
6. Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
I first heard this song in Stuck in Love, a phenomenal movie with an amazing soundtrack, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. How many times have you heard the quote “home is wherever I’m with you” and wondered where it came from? Maybe I’m the only one who felt like I couldn’t escape this quote before finding this song, but it’s seemingly everywhere on the Internet! I can’t help but bop along with this song, whether I’m dancing and cleaning up the house or just walking to class.
7. Happily by One Direction
On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com
A lot of people are immediately turned off by any song by One Direction simply because they’re a boy band. That being said, this song is so different from any music put out by a boy band. It has a Mumford and Sons vibe, making it one of the most popular songs on their latest album. It’ll help put a little pep in your step no matter your mood this spring!
What does your spring playlist look like? These are just a few of my favorites, but I’m looking for more songs to add to my playlist, so let me know in the comments!
