7 Inspiring Songs to Help You through Every Stage of Your Life ...

Music is one of the most powerful forces in our world, and a playlist full of inspiring songs has the ability to make us feel like we can conquer anything. I read a quote somewhere that said something along the lines of this; when you’re happy you listen to the beat, when you’re sad you listen to the words. I realized just how true that was! It’s the reason love songs are just so good; it’s because we always relate to them! Music has the power to help us through anything. For when You’re in Love – Marry You by Bruno Mars

Yes, it may sound so cliché and have you rolling your eyes, yet every time I hear this song, I find myself singing along and my mood instantly lifted. No matter what stage in the relationship you’re at with your partner, being in love is a beautiful feeling. Plus Bruno Mars writes some of the most inspiring songs ever, and this one is not only upbeat and fun, it’s beautiful all the way through! If you’re lucky enough to find someone who feels the same way about you as you do about them, rejoice in that!

For when the Job Hunt is Killing You – Keep Your Head up by Andy Grammer

It took me no less than 2 whole years after graduation to finally find a job to somewhat settle in to. And I remember going to interviews, sending out resumes day after day, and getting so excited once I got a call back. Then I’d go in to the interview, do the best I could, leave, and never hear back from them. It’s a vicious cycle. Then one morning on my way back from one of these interviews this song came on the radio, and it was one of the most inspiring songs I had ever heard. Its message is so pure, hopeful, and filled with love. This song reminds you to keep your head up, no matter what!

For when You’re in the Midst of a Break up – Broken Strings by James Morrison Feat. Nelly Furtado

This was the song that really hit it home for me. I was in the midst of a break up, like every other college girl, teetering on the fence of whether to try harder or just give up. It might sound counterproductive, but in my mind I needed a logical reason to end things. Just ‘feeling’ like it was over wasn’t enough to satisfy my naïve heart and head. Then this song came on, and suddenly it clicked. It’s not only one of the most inspiring songs I’ve heard, to me it was like a four and half minute epiphany accompanied by a great tune. It taught me one thing: you can’t feel anything that your heart doesn’t want to feel. That lesson right there is priceless.

For when You Need Self-Motivation – Firework by Katy Perry

Katy herself once said that if there was one song she wanted to be remembered for, ‘Firework’ was it. I can’t blame her; it’s one of the most beautiful and inspiring songs ever recorded. Whenever I need just an extra boost in my step, to remind myself that I can do something, or even when I’m just feeling a little down, this song does the trick. Katy reminds us all that no matter what happens to you in life, the ups, the downs, the good and the bad; you can’t let it bring you down. When there seems to be so many obstacles in our path, it’s hard to remember sometimes that our power comes from within. As long as you remember you’re a little firework, no one else can bring you down.

For when You Feel Lost - Let It Be by the Beatles

Perhaps the greatest band to ever exist; the wisdom of The Beatles never fails to amaze me. For their music to still speak to people today is an incredible feat. They’ve written some of the most inspiring songs the world has ever heard. ‘Let It Be’ is but just one of them, and the message is so important. This song reminds us that sometimes we need to just take a step back, relax, and let it be. Whoever and whatever it is that you believe in, we all have to remember sometimes that we cannot control everything. When you’re feeling lost, often times the only way to find yourself again is to just let it be; you’ll find your way again!

For when You Need to Just Need to Cut Loose – Memories by David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi

I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just relaxes me and pumps me up every time I hear it. It’s such a fun, free, and happy song. Some of the most inspiring songs out there put us in the best moods, and make us forget our problems. That’s what music is supposed to do sometimes; just relax you and let you know that it’s okay to have a little fun once in a while! If you can find a track that gets you pumped up and excited, then you need to keep it on permanent replay for the days when you just have no motivation to get out of bed. I can tell you one thing, when this song comes up on my iPhone, there’s an extra spring in my step.

For when You Feel like You’re on Top of the World – I Made It by Kevin Rudolf

That day will come. You know the one I’m talking about, the day when suddenly the thought pops into your head – I made it. All your hard work, whether it’s to land your dream job, to marry the love of your life, to finally travel to Greece and watch the sunset, you feel all your biggest dreams coming true. That’s when you know you’ve made it. Without a doubt, the most inspiring songs to play when you get to that moment, or even as you’re working to reach it is this song from Kevin Rudolph. The beat is insane, the lyrics are amazing, and honestly who doesn’t want a theme song for the moment all their dreams come true?

There are so many great songs out there that can ignite the most powerful feelings in us. Music can save people, music and teach people, and music can empower people. The best part of it all however, is that music just allows us to have fun! No matter what stage of life you’re going through, we all have songs that help us through this journey we call life.
