Bare Necessities

Bare Necessities is my absolute favorite among Disney songs. It's just so catchy and happy! It's bound to cheer you up if you're feeling blue. But there's also a wise message about how we really don't need that much in life and can be happy with less. Not a bad philosophy to adopt!

2

Everybody Wants to Be a Cat

And now, my second favorite song. This song is just so utterly cool - who wouldn't want to be a cat when they watch it? The Aristocats is one of the Disney movies that I love the most. It's got a great story along with the fab songs, and the feline characters are such fun.

3

I Wanna Be like You

The Jungle Book has some of the catchiest Disney songs ever. This excellent little song has been covered by many singers, but nobody can beat the original version. It's a great song for jazz fans.

4

The Beautiful Briny Sea

Bedknobs & Broomsticks may not be one of the better-known Disney movies, but it was one of the first movies to combine live-action with animation. The story of a witch helping out the war effort might sound like a strange movie, but give it a try and discover some 'new' songs.

5

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Who can spell the title of this song? Probably none of us, but we can all sing it! Mary Poppins is a great family film; why not rent it for Christmas if you have young children? Like Bedknobs & Broomsticks, it mixes animation with live-action. Unlike Bedknobs & Broomsticks, it is famous for having the worst Cockney accent ever done by an American actor …

The Wonderful Thing about Tiggers

Who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh? Tigger also has a lot of fans, who love this song in which he gets to showcase his uniqueness. Like Bare Necessities, it's a great message for youngsters to absorb. Be yourself and love it!

7

When I See an Elephant Fly

Dumbo is a perennial favorite among all ages. What's not to love about an elephant who wants to fly? It's an absolutely enchanting movie, with this ace song about the improbability of elephants being able to fly …

8

He's a Tramp

Some Disney songs featured very well-known and highly-rated singers of the time. This wonderful smoky jazz song is performed by Peggy Lee, and shows just how Disney movies could attract extremely high quality talent.

9

Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah

I just had to close with a true Disney classic. Even if you haven't seen the movie it's from (Song of the South), you will almost certainly be able to sing the chorus of this song. It's impossible to hear Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and not cheer up instantly!

There are so many wonderful Disney songs that it was a tough task to pick out just a few. These are just some of the favorites I remember from my childhood. You will be sure to have your own favorites, so which do you think are the best songs from Disney movies?
