1. Summertime by Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff
If you are a '90s kid then you know nothing says summer more than this song right here. I swear it can be the middle of winter and negative temps and I will want to get out my beach towel soak up some rays. “Summer, summer, summertime. Time to sit back and unwind.”
2. Summer Love by Justin Timberlake
Yes I admit, I have a sweet spot for Mr. Timberlake. I don’t know if it’s the voice, his wicked dance moves, or that curly noodle hair he wore back in his NSYNC days. Nevertheless, “Summer Love” is an awesome summer jam. We all want a little summer love, I am sure.

3. CALIFORNIA Gurls by Katy Perry Ft. Snoop Dog
No summer playlist is complete without a little Katy Perry. She just screams summer with her bright smile and colorful hair and outfits. This song, of course, lives up to all the expectations of a Katy Perry song. I want sunkissed skin so hot I melt popsicles.
4. When the Sun Goes down by Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker
Summer isn’t just for pop music. Nothing is better than some country music playing on the beach with a nice cold drink in hand. Kenny Chesney is right, everything does get a little hotter when the sun goes down.
5. All Summer Long by Kid Rock
I know a lot of people from many different places love this song by Kid Rock. Some may even call it their summer anthem, but you can’t fully appreciate this song until you have experienced a beautiful Michigan summer after a long and brutal Michigan winter.
6. Cruise by Florida Georgia Line
Yes! Who hasn’t enjoyed a beautiful summer day driving around with the windows down, playing your favorite songs? It sounds like a perfect summer day to me, especially if you are on your way to the beach or pool. Man, did I tell you I love summer?
7. Hot in Herre by Nelly
So, while this song isn't exactly about summer, it is about being a little too hot. Let’s celebrate summer by getting so hot we take off all our clothes. Who’s up for a little skinny dipping?
8. Summer Girls by LFO
You can’t judge me. Here’s another one '90s kids will appreciate. There are so many references to the early '90s in this song. It’s like a trip down memory lane. Plus, we all have summer crushes we wonder about from time to time
I know my summer playlist is a bit eclectic, but what can I say, that’s just who I am. What songs do you celebrate summer with? Are you more of a country girl or hip-hop? Maybe you are like me and love it all.
