Many great artists released albums in 2013, which means there will be tons of great concerts in 2014. In my opinion, a must-see concert contains much more than just singing. I have been to many concerts and the ones I remember more than others are the ones that have a great stage show as well. So here are my 7 must-see concerts in 2014 that you’ll love to see and brag to your friends about!

1. Lady Gaga
Of course Lady Gaga has to top my list of must-see concerts in 2014. She has all the makings of a great stage show. Her concerts are full of flawless choreography, an exciting plot, dance-worthy beats, fearless fashion, and out-of-this-world vocals. Unlike most performers, Lady Gaga addresses the crowd on a personal level. At each of her tours, Gaga has taken the time out to personally talk to several fans in the audience. She will read and comment on their signs, compliment them, and sometimes even invite them on stage. This year for the artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball, Gaga is even inviting a few Little Monsters on the general admission floor backstage after the show. Mother Monster gives inspirational speeches and also takes the time to do piano ballads to really show off her vocal ability. There is something for everyone at a Lady Gaga concert and you shouldn’t miss seeing her this year. The artRAVE kicks off May 4th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and chances are, she is coming to a city near you!
2. Garth Brooks
Even people who don’t like country music usually find something to love about Garth Brooks. Garth Brooks is one of the best selling artists of all time, the second best solo-album selling artist (behind Elvis Presley), and is the best selling albums artist in the US in the Sound Scan era (beating the Beatles by 5 million albums). Garth retired from touring and recording in 2000, but has done occasional shows and did a Las Vegas residency on the weekends for a few years. Garth’s 2014 world-tour will be his first one since his retirement and it’s a very big deal. Garth is known for his stage presence. He knows how to fire up a crowd in ways most artists can’t. For the tour, he is engineering a new type of sound system and promises, “It’s gonna be loud!” As of right now, there aren’t any dates released but keep checking because this is one show you won’t want to miss.
Frequently asked questions
3. Miley Cyrus
2013 was the year of Miley Cyrus. With all of the hype surrounding her and her album, Bangerz, I am willing to bet Miley will be pulling out all the stops to make sure her Bangerz Tour will live up to the buzz. If the Bangerz Tour is anything like Miley’s most recent music videos and performances, audiences can look forward to twerking, lots of tongue, and Miley’s “Gucci Man” persona. Each of Miley’s outfits for the tour are custom designed by Roberto Cavalli, to be pretty, sexy, and very Miley. The Bangerz Tour kicks off in Tacoma, Washington on February 16th.
4. Eminem
Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 (MMLP2) was one of the most anticipated album releases in 2013. This album serves as a follow up to his Marshall Mathers LP, arguably Eminem’s most influential album. With the success of MMLP2, I predict Eminem’s 2014 tour will produce some of the most sought-after tickets this year. Eminem announced the Rapture Tour, a select number of shows in South Africa and Australia, featuring an impressive lineup with rappers like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Eminem is one of the most entertaining artists in recent history and his concerts are always so much fun. So far, there is no news if Eminem will be bringing this show to the USA. The Rapture Tour is kicking off at Western Springs Stadium on February 15th.
5. Britney Spears
Britney Spears kicked off her Las Vegas residency in 2013 and has already become one of the hottest tickets of 2014. Britney is an icon for her dance moves, costumes, and stage presence. Her show, Piece of Me, has all the makings of a classic Britney concert with an added Vegas twist. Her costumes are flashier, the dance moves more electric, and her stage presence is more domineering. Britney will be performing hits from her latest album and her 8th studio album, Piece of Me, through September of this year. Get your tickets while you can!
6. One Direction
One Direction is perhaps America’s current favorite boy band. Fans everywhere were beyond ecstatic when One Direction announced the Where We Are Tour after the release of their third studio album, Midnight Memories. These young boys have only released three albums and are already touring stadiums. They have proven they are much more than a fad of British pop music and are here to stay. If you have been wanting to see Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan perform, now is your chance! The Where We Are Tour begins in Toronto, Ontario on August 1st.
7. Katy Perry
Katy Perry has claimed that she has ditched her bubblegum appearance for good. If her performance at the Grammy’s is any indication, she must really mean it! That’s why her 2014 Prismatic World Tour is a must-see! Previously, Katy Perry concerts have been full of candy, color, and bright hair. Are we in for a darker, more serious Katy? The only way to find out is to go and see for yourself! Katy will be singing songs from her new album, Prism, as well as her classic hits. The Prismatic World Tour begins on June 22nd in Raleigh, North Carolina.
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you get tickets to these concerts! Each of these celebrities is known for producing some of the most memorable stage shows of our time. Will you be ordering tickets to see any of these singers? Who else is on your list to see this year?
