Chances are, everyone has at least one Jacko album on their playlist and this is probably one of them. Released in 1982, Thriller is the sixth studio album by the late and great Michael Jackson. It followed his Off the Wall album, which was also critically and commercially successful, with hits such as "Rock with You" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." Musical genius that he was, Michael had this amazing ability to revel in all types of musical genres and this album shows him indulging in R&B, rock, funk, and pop music. This album has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. Are you one of those millions? I know I am and it's one of the best-selling albums I will never tire of!

2. Eagles' Greatest Hits (1976)

I know the Eagles are synonymous with playlists of the over-40s, but I have never been concerned with what people think about my taste in music. Listening to the Eagles makes me feel as though I'm driving through California in a convertible with the wind blowing through my hair... Frivolous fantasies aside, this album is comprised of their hit singles from 1971 to 1975, and with such easy listening hits as "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling," it's one best-selling album I love to listen to when I need to relax and unwind... and of course fantasize about a road trip across the states!

3. AC/DC's Back in Black (1980)

AC/DC's Back in Black (1980) On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

Now, I'm not really one for hard rock but I'll make an exception where these Australian guys are concerned. Back in Black is the sixth internationally released studio album by the Australian band. It was released on 21 July 1980 and was dedicated to the former lead singer, Bon Scott, who died on the 19th February of that same year at the age of 33. The album has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album ever released by an Australian musical act. The band considered disbanding after Scott's death but thankfully decided not to and have had continued success over the last three decades. They have recently revealed plans to record another album and embark on a 40th anniversary tour!

4. The Bodyguard Soundtrack (1992)

How I miss the beautiful and talented Whitney. She has left a lasting musical legacy behind and this album demonstrates her amazing talent. This best-selling soundtrack of all time, from the fabulous film starring Whitney and Kevin Costner, was released on November 17, 1992. If you love the film you'll love the soundtrack, which features songs by Whitney and a number of other artists. It also won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

5. Pink Floyd's the Dark Side of the Moon (1973)

Pink Floyd's the Dark Side of the Moon (1973) On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

Pink Floyd is a British progressive rock band and their music is characterized by haunting and lengthy instrumental compositions. This best-selling album explores themes of mental illness (partly inspired by the diminishing mental state of band member Syd Barrett), greed and conflict. This album is incredible but I have to admit, I have to be in the right frame of mind to listen to it.

6. Saturday Night Fever (1977)

Saturday Night Fever (1977) On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

I wonder if John Travolta ever envisioned, when he was filming back in the '70s, how iconic that dance and the accompanying white flared suit would become. This is one of those albums that takes you back to those simpler days, where the hair was big, the suits were flared and with the amount of polyester in the room, one match and it would all be over! The original soundtrack from the 1977 film has become synonymous with all things disco and it's an album which is bound to put you in a good mood when you're feeling down or if you just need a soundtrack to get you in the mood for a night out with the ladies/lads!

7. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (1977)

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (1977) On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

The members of Fleetwood Mac were known just as much for their stunning and haunting melodies as they were for their relationship troubles. With such hits as "Go Your Own Way," "Don't Stop" and "Dreams," it's no wonder that Rumours won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1978. It has sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time and it's one of my favorites too!

These are some of my favourite albums of all time which have topped the album charts. Which are yours? Does anyone own any of the above?
