1. Tori Kelly’s Unbreakable Smile
Unbreakable Smile is probably my favorite album of the summer. Every single song sounds it look could be a hit single, if you haven’t already decided that for yourself upon hearing her two hit singles, Nobody Love and Should’ve Been Us. Besides the fact that they all sound like hits, they also all sound like summer songs. I have listened to this entire album on road trips, and I can assure that it is full of songs you want to listen to with the windows down on a summer night!
2. Ben Rector’s Walking in between
I wish that everyone knew that genius that was Ben Rector, but alas, that is not the case. He has a new album coming out extremely soon, but I haven’t heard all of the songs yet, so this album will have to do. This is another album that just sounds like summer, if that’s not evidenced by the song “Thank God for the Summertime” on the album. This album will give you summer vibes long after summer is over, believe me.
Frequently asked questions
3. Taylor Swift’s 1989
It doesn’t matter that this album came out last October, because it’s still killing the charts and everyone’s still listening to it now that she’s on tour promoting the album and bringing out amazing guests every night. If you haven’t been listening to this album on repeat since it was released, you have probably been living a much more productive life than I have, but you’ve also seriously been missing out!
4. Hilary Duff’s Breathe in. Breathe out
Hilary Duff’s first album in a long time was released at the beginning of the summer but it’s still the album you should give a listen or two to this summer. If you loved her music back in the day (we’re talking a super long time ago, like a whole decade ago) then this is the album for you. It’s like listening to the albums you loved back, but updated for 2015, and it’s magnificent.
5. Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion
Does anyone else feel like this is the only music they’ve heard about since the album was released very recently? I know that I do, and I must say that I’m surprised. Carly Rae Jepsen was nearly destined for one-hit-wonder stardom, and it seems like she got out of her coffin right before the final nail was nailed in and amazed everyone with this impressive album!

6. Ed Sheeran’s Multiply
Sure, this album came out last year, but that probably means that it was your favorite album last summer. If you want to indulge in some nostalgia from last summer, give this album a listen. It will definitely bring you back to last summer! Or, if you were one of the lucky few who got to see him in concert this summer (I took quite the road trip to make that happen!), listen to this album for the ultimate post-concert depression.
7. Fifth Harmony’s Reflection
Everyone needs some girl power anthems now and then (or all of the time, if you’re anything like me) and this is the album to get your fix! This album has it all, from the girl power anthems we’re all craving, to sultry songs, and even a few slower songs. Just like Tori Kelly’s album, every song on this album sounds like it’s going to be a hit!
