One of the most amazing albums from the 90s is Nirvana’s Nevermind. This album is constantly ranked as one of the greatest albums of all time. Nevermind helped bring alternative music mainstream. The grunge album has been certified Diamond and has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide! All the best known Nirvana songs are on Nevermind, including “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Lithium,” “Come as You Are,” and “In Bloom.”
2. Rage against the Machine – Rage against the Machine
Rage Against the Machine’s (RATM) self-titled album is without a doubt one of the best albums of the 1990s. RATM was one of the first commercially successful metal rap albums. Third Eye Blind’s debut, self-titled album is full of great 90s jams. One interesting thing about the album is that it only peaked at #25 on the Billboard charts, but it remained on the chars for over 100 weeks! The album produced many hits, including three songs that were in the Top 10 on the Billboard Charts: “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper,” and “How’s It Going to Be.”
6. All Eyez on Me – 2Pac
All Eyez on Me is 2Pac’s fourth studio album, and arguably his best. The album has sold over 5 million copies worldwide since its 1996 release. All Eyez on Me is known as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. The album is known for the hits “California Love” and “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.”
7. Metallica – Metallica
Metallica’s self-titled album, sometimes called The Black album, is one of the amazing albums from the 90s you need on your iPod. The album has sold over 16 million copies in the US alone and over 30 million copies worldwide. Metallica was the first album to reach the top of the charts for the band. Metallica features the hit songs “Enter Sandman,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Wherever I May Roam.”
