Goddesses of Rock Music All Women Will Love to Jam out to ...

Are you a huge rock fan? Who are the goddesses of rock? In today’s mainstream music, all we see are the artists for pop, rap, and hip-hop. The usual female suspects are Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, etc. But just because they are talented performers, do they deserve the whole spotlight? In the rock genre, there are a few female artists who are just as talented (maybe even more so) as these pop artists. Let’s take a moment and give some recognition to the current Goddesses of Rock.

1 Taylor Momsen

With her grungy style of singing, Taylor Momsen captures the true sound of a rock vocalist and is one of my favorite goddesses of rock. With her band, The Pretty Reckless, she has released some great songs like “Make Me Wanna Die”, “Going to Hell”, and “Take Me Down”. What is most shocking is that she is Cindy Lou Who from "How The Grinch Stole Christma" with Jim Carrey. Quite the transition from “Where Are You Christmas?” to “Going to Hell”.

Frequently asked questions

2 Elizabeth “Lzzy” Hale

Lzzy Hale and her brother, Arejay Hale, formed the band Halestorm with Lzzy taking lead vocals and Arejay being the drummer. Some of Halestorm’s most popular songs are “I Get Off”, “Love Bites”, “I Miss the Misery”, and “Freak Like Me”. Listening to the songs, you’ll think how is it possible for Lzzy to have such a powerful voice. Back in 2010, I went to a Three Days Grace concert in Nashville. Halestorm was one of many bands playing before Three Days Grace. Her powerful voice is for real. Not only does she sing, she can play the guitar and can do percussion as well. The band was awesome and she did a great job being the front person.

3 Amy Lee

Her band Evanescence has been out of the spotlight for a while after splitting up for some time. But now they are back together and have released a new album, Synthesis, on November 10. Amy Lee has proved herself to be a great female rocker with her haunting voice and performing songs like “Bring Me To Life”, “Going Under”, “My Immortal”, and “Call Me When You’re Sober”. Her nickname is in fact “Queen of Rock”.

4 Hayley Williams

Not only does Hayley Williams from Paramore have an amazing voice but she also has great showmanship and a fun and an ever-changing appearance. Besides performing with her band, she has been a featured vocalist with other bands and artists from different genres. Make sure to listen to Paramore’s songs like “Misery Business”, “That’s What You Get”, “The Only Exception”, and “Still Into You”.

Were there any other current female rockers I left out? Please list them in the comments.
