Summer Songs to Have You Jamming out for the Season ...

It's that time of year again, stalkers! Not only is it summer, but it's time to come up with a playlist full of summertime songs that will really get you movin' and groovin'. When the sun gets hot and the nights are humid and sultry, it's the best time to create a soundtrack for your summertime life. You need songs that speak to you somehow – maybe they make you want to dance, or go on a moonlit walk, or kiss your lover in the rain. Who knows? But here are the songs that are getting me going this summer. Definitely add your favorites, too!

1

“California Gurls” by Katy Perry Feat. Snoop Dogg

This song always makes me think of summer! It always makes me want to visit California, too. The great thing about this song is that it's so catchy, upbeat, and easy to move to, so even people who aren't really fans of Katy Perry may find themselves dancing to it. I know I always do, and I can't even dance!

"Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake

Oh, Justin! Is anyone else obsessed with this song right now? I don't play it on repeat or anything, but it has definitely been on every playlist I've made since JT came out with it. Of course, I can honestly say the same thing about “Sexyback” because … well, just because, really. Can you blame me?

"This is What You Came for" by Calvin Harris Featuring Rihanna

These two make such amazing music together! This is another track that's found its way onto pretty much every playlist I've made since the start of summer. There's something about it, I just can't stop listening to it.

“H.O.L.Y.” by Florida Georgia Line

This band, man. I've become such a huge fan of Florida Georgia Line recently. Along with several other groups and musicians, they've really made me a fan of modern country. This song, though … if you haven't heard it, I urge you to listen to it. It's just … wow.

“No” by Meghan Trainor

I don't know what it is about Meghan Trainor, but her songs will get stuck in your head like nobody's business. She really knows how to come up with an earworm, am I right? I can't help it, though, I just really dig this song. I love playing it loud on the way to the beach, with the windows rolled down and the sunroof up, of course. That's the only way to do it!

“Needed Me” by Rihanna

Of course Rihanna is here twice! She's incredible! Seriously, I love her so much – I always have, but seeing her in concert with Eminem made me absolutely fall in love. And this song? Oh, I love listening to this song on rainy summer evenings – preferably as the sun goes down, while I'm watching the sun set as I sit on my sun porch. That's a pretty amazing experience because this song makes those moments feel surreal.

“Just like Fire” by P!nk

I don't think I've ever listened to a Pink song that I didn't like. Every summer, she shows up somewhere on my playlist. This summer, this song is definitely dominating. When you listen to it, you feel just like fire, too, like you're made of fire, like you could be the one singing this song. It's just infectious, like so much of Pink's music.
