There’s a lot I love about the '90s but what I love the most are the songs from the '90s. They are poppy, powerful, dramatic and infectious! In fact I could listen to music from the '90s all day! Here are few songs from the '90s that we have all come to know and love.

1

Vogue, Madonna

One of the songs from the '90s that we can’t forget is Vogue by Madonna. The song Vogue as well as the music video for the single were inspired by vogue dancers in New York City. After Madonna released the song and the music video to accompany, the dance move became mainstream.

2

Black or White, Michael Jackson

Black or White, like a lot of Michael Jackson’s songs, had a deeper meaning and wasn’t just a pop tune for the radios. Black or White received positive reception, making it one of the fastest chart toppers in Michael’s career. Plus the song helped Michael Jackson become the first artist to have hits in the '70s, '80s and '90s.

I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston

I Will Always Love You, understandably, is a difficult song to sing, which only speaks volumes about Whitney Houston’s talent. That’s also what makes the song so great... plus it makes for a great karaoke song! Most people only know Whitey’s version that she sang and recorded for The Bodyguard soundtrack. However, many people don’t know that I Will Always Love You is originally a country song performed by country singer Dolly Parton in 1974!

4

Un-Break My Heart, Toni Braxton

Released in the summer of 1996, Un-Break My Heart would become the single that Toni Braxton became most known for. Plus, the song won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1997. Supposedly, when Toni first heard this chart topper she was skeptical to add it to her album – luckily for her, and us, she didn’t follow her gut feeling and went ahead with the song anyways, with a little push from her record executive L.A. Reid.

Wannabe, Spice Girls

“I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want. So tell me what you want, what you really really want. I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really really really wanna zigazig ha.” ... True poetry. Maybe not, but the song is definitely infectious and a total guilty pleasure.

My Heart Will Go on, Celine Dion

Speaking of guilty pleasures, My Heart Will Go On is a power ballad that we’ve all secretly played on repeat at least once in our lifetime. Don’t believe me? Well, upon some research I found out that My Heart Will Go On not only went #1 almost all over the world but it was also the world’s best selling single of 1998. The world!

... Baby One More Time, Britney Spears

In my personal opinion, ... Baby One More Time is the most iconic song of the '90s. From the sport bras to the dance number in the gym to the debut of the undisputed Pop Princess Britney Spears ... Baby One More Time is legendary. In 1999, Britney’s first single went to # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from January 30 – February 7... not very long considering it was the song that led her to a long and successful career.

The '90s were full of great songs that we listened to on a daily basis and still do from time to time. We grew up to the words and the music, and therefore those songs became the soundtrack to our lives! What are some other songs from the '90s that we still love?
